Both shows have extremely large followers and are arguably two of the most popular ongoing shounen series.
According to most Haikyuu readers’ comments, it is a better series. Much higher quality storytelling than in Characters is not necessarily less but seems to be more flush no matter who they are.Haikyuu has incredible characters and character development, and everyone knows that. Both series have a large cast, and while I know Horikoshi is planning to add class 1-A, Haikyuu’s character development could go faster and more impactful. Haikyuu attracts more readers because the story is not about superpowers, but high school volleyball.
In My Hero Academia certain characters go through a heavy development, I just said that I found that Haikyuu did it better and better. My Hero Academia is a bit cheesy. Like, even with its shocking twist and plot, it somehow managed to predict how things would turn out. Also, I found that many of the arcs in the manga, although in the end they contribute some lasting effects to the plot, are not enough. Some arcs don’t seem to contribute enough to the plot of their length. Almost like a half canon / sub half arc.
On the other hand, Haikyuu has a clear purpose and contributes a lot to the improvement of its story and characters. I rarely get the impression that “ oh this won’t matter along the way ” or “ this is a waste of time ”.
My hero academia is just how the shows were designed, it’s that Haikyuu’s characters are much more real.
Most readers like Haikyuu
Haikyuu has incredible characters and character development, and everyone knows that. But Haikyuu’s character development could be faster and more impactful. In the end, I just got more involved with the character of Haikyuu, the girl because the story is not about superpowers but high school volleyball.
Haikyuu. I only watch HQ anime, but I got caught up in both anime and manga for MHA and I read it for at least a year before the anime came out.
My Hero Academia has just the right art and music style. There are 3 main mistakes that My Hero Academia makes that I cannot forgive
Figure. Its characters feel faint and inconsistent
Deku is a Gary Stu and his character development is almost non-existent. Literally, everyone likes Deku. Haikyuu’s charm to me is Karasuno’s ability to overcome difficulties against fearsome opponents.
Female characters for which I am not a feminist, but I am surprised that many are not annoyed by the treatment that female characters are treated in this manga.
The story I’m getting tired of typing so … basically, it’s just school activity, villain’s attack, repeat. The villain’s attacks are great, but the school activities are like a fantasy / fantasy movie.
